What to know before you travel to Houston with Kids
Houston is both wild west and outer space, a city that’s about the exploration of new things. Whether you're into the food scene, art, or want to see the Space Center, Houston is the place to be! The 4th largest city in the U.S. boast an incredible number of things to do with kids. Flying into Houston is easy. The country's fourth largest airport system serves over 180 cities worldwide. Book your trip into either Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) or William P. Hobby Airport.
Bush is the larger of the two, with over 700 daily departures from nearly all major airlines and is located 20 miles from downtown Houston. Hobby Airport serves domestic destination and while smaller, has seen a significant increase in passenger traffic. American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue and Southwest all fly in and out of Hobby.
The winter in Houston is relatively mild and dry, with high temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Both Spring and Fall bring lots of sunny, warm days with highs in the 70s and 80s. Between October and April, temperatures at night can be chilly.
From May to September, it is hot and humid. High temperatures are in the 90s and 100s and high humidity makes it feel even hotter. While Houston is known for sun, it can rain any time of the year – and when it rains, it rains hard.
